First reading of the term!

This week in Ruru we are have a camp themed week because we are going on camp next week! I'm really exited for it because actives like orienteering and rock climbing. But anyways this week for reading we did mapping and also bunk label designing for camp. also there is the 3rd create task, for the 3rd create task we did a piktochart about something on this website here. Horrible Tsunamis (Sad)

Hey bloggers in today's post i'm going to show you my tsunami work! It was about the 2009 tsunami in Samoa and Tonga. I did not FINISH my third task so i only did 2 tasks. I am very sorry It was a very devastating event and i hope it does not happen again. Hope that you enjoy!

Create Task 1

The story was about A girl and getting ready to go to school. It was based on a real story 2009 in Samoa and Tonga. It all started at around 6:45 in the morning and a big earthquake stuck! It was really big with a magnitude of 8.1! It created a tsunami and destroyed the lives of 189 people. It destroyed many villages and houses but it is all rebuilt.

Complementary task

Tsunamis are caused by sudden movements on the ocean floor due to earthquakes, landslides, land slumping into the ocean, large volcanic eruptions or a meteorite crash on the ocean floor.  

Challenge text 

This book was about how tornadoes and what happens when one happens. Tornadoes form by different swirling air currents coming together. You can also make tornadoes with two water bottles, one upside down on top of another one that's the right side up!

Task 2!

In this task we had to design a emergency kit for the event in our journal!

This task was a ton of fun!

Hey bloggers In this blog post i'm going to show you my week 4 reading. The main topic is about earthquakes! Also i am also really sorry that i did not post last week, i am also sorry that not much work has 

been done this week. I started with one day to do my task. I only had one day to do this MASTERPIECE

. The story was in Christchurch about an earthquake and Who experienced this unpleasant event. There was six characters in this story Ellie, Ellie's mum, Ellie's dad, Elles friend and Ellie's brother and the builder. 

Challenge text

 Do you know about Tectonic plates? They are the things that make earthquakes! How do the tectonic plates have anything to do with earthquakes you might say, well if the tectonic plates collide with each other then they a earthquake. 

 Complementary text 

 This story was a girl reading about the canterbury earthquake incident. This is not the whole story but basically what happens is there is a 7 minute long earthquake and the cat goes outside to check it out.

My Rover

 Hey my name is Blake and in this post i'm going to show you my task! this week the task was to create our OWN rovers. we had to fill out some slides and then draw it. This task was really fun and i enjoyed it. This week I read about Pluto, good book good topic. Enjoy! :)
