Horrible Tsunamis (Sad)

Hey bloggers in today's post i'm going to show you my tsunami work! It was about the 2009 tsunami in Samoa and Tonga. I did not FINISH my third task so i only did 2 tasks. I am very sorry It was a very devastating event and i hope it does not happen again. Hope that you enjoy!

Create Task 1

The story was about A girl and getting ready to go to school. It was based on a real story 2009 in Samoa and Tonga. It all started at around 6:45 in the morning and a big earthquake stuck! It was really big with a magnitude of 8.1! It created a tsunami and destroyed the lives of 189 people. It destroyed many villages and houses but it is all rebuilt.

Complementary task

Tsunamis are caused by sudden movements on the ocean floor due to earthquakes, landslides, land slumping into the ocean, large volcanic eruptions or a meteorite crash on the ocean floor.  

Challenge text 

This book was about how tornadoes and what happens when one happens. Tornadoes form by different swirling air currents coming together. You can also make tornadoes with two water bottles, one upside down on top of another one that's the right side up!

Task 2!

In this task we had to design a emergency kit for the event in our journal!

This task was a ton of fun!

It is my favorite task!

WALT: Use prior knowledge when making text-to-text connections.

Hey bloggers In this blog post i'm going to show you my week 4 reading. The main topic is about earthquakes! Also i am also really sorry that i did not post last week, i am also sorry that not much work has 

been done this week. I started with one day to do my task. I only had one day to do this MASTERPIECE

 SO ENJOY!

. The story was in Christchurch about an earthquake and Who experienced this unpleasant event. There was six characters in this story Ellie, Ellie's mum, Ellie's dad, Elles friend and Ellie's brother and the builder. 

Challenge text

 Do you know about Tectonic plates? They are the things that make earthquakes! How do the tectonic plates have anything to do with earthquakes you might say, well if the tectonic plates collide with each other then they a earthquake. 

 Complementary text 

 This story was a girl reading about the canterbury earthquake incident. This is not the whole story but basically what happens is there is a 7 minute long earthquake and the cat goes outside to check it out.

Taniwha Trouble!!

Task 1:

Hey bloggers Today i'm going to show you this weeks work. I didn't do much because I wasn't here for  almost the whole week! i'm sorry for the lack of work.I only started on Thursday. The book was called Taniwha Trouble. It was about a Taniwha in the Vent system. anyways here is the full story!

Story  

In room 13 Noah called Out there's a Taniwha in the heater!!! He was told by the teacher to go and get Mr Blackadder. Mr Blackadder went down to the boiler room and fixed it. In the end Mr Blackadder found a Taniwha in the heater and he released it into the river.

in Complimentary text and Challenging task we had to write 3 sentences about the text or video!

There were two Taniwhas named Whataitai Ngake. They lived in The Wellington harbor. They wanted to leave the lake and go into the ocean. 

Challenging text:  Ngake are two taniphas that live on the north and south of wellington harbor. Whataitai lived on the north and Ngake lived on the south. Ngake was very energetic and furious.

Task 2:

Task 2 Rewrite the last paragraph of the story: The caretaker Mr Blackadder went down to the boiler room and figured out the problem, well that's what the class thought. What really happened is He went down into the boiler room and he unleashed the beast into the wild! It flew straight to the class and broke through the doors. It destroyed the whole school! Eventually they called the police and the beast was sent to the river to float away in peace. The end!

I changed it because the story was not really dramatic and I like dramatic books, movies, ect!

This was my favorite create task!

Task 3:

In task 3 we had to pretend we were a police interviewing someone and you have to come up with 5 questions to ask someone in your story!
